Legionella found to be ‘widespread’ at hospital in Virginia, USA
Legionella bacteria was found to be so widespread in a Pittsburgh hospital that it was found to have contaminated even the outdoor decorative fountain, making the landscaping feature one possible source of the fatal outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease in autumn 2012, the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention found.
